4-42. In the eternally vast spaces between your thoughts, you will find the endless peace in which the Mind of God can be remembered. God is certain that you are Love. This certainty can be yours as well.
The vast majority of thoughts careen about with the latent chambers of the mind, seemingly at random and without any genuine purpose or import that could be used to classify their meaning or relationship to each other. Almost all thoughts, other than those that are deliberately drawn into existence through the process of applied conception or the release of the unlimited power of imagination, are not created with the volition of their possessor. This is a critically important distinction to accept and then to transcend - the vast majority of your rambling and possibly disjointed patterns of cognition are not under your direct impetus. But what of that? What is to be derived from such a truth, once it is wholly accepted and then allowed to be as it is, with no further attachment placed upon the arising of any particular thought as being definatory of anything at all? At its final resolution, great and abiding Freedom ensues, for you are not your thoughts and many of your thoughts are not of your own creation. This is apparent madness to the untrained mind, for if one’s thoughts are not their own, then to whom do they belong? Yet it can be clearly demonstrated in the “group think” aspect of society - i.e., when a certain idea takes on a viral aspect, replicating itself endlessly and transmitting its presumptions and predilections throughout the willing participants who take it up and make it their own with no consideration of whether any particular idea or belief is actually reflective of their own intentionality, or even more importantly - if such a locus of contemplation is valued by them at all. That which is dysfunctional for the individual should be disregarded, yet that is rarely the case, as humanity as a whole retains many of its tendencies towards easily achieved unification behind singular conceptualizations, which during the vast majority of human evolution was of immense value through assuring that tribal structures would work in the best interests of all of their participants, regardless if some of the tribe’s actions were at cross-purposes with individual intentions or desires. Thoughts can be infectious indeed, replicating rapidly and traveling extraordinarily quickly, reproducing themselves through the unconscious acceptance that frequently occurs within a mind that has spent little to no time in a process of self-reflection and dedicated self-observance. Knowing and accepting this, it becomes far less likely that you will continue to wish to be easily “caught up” within your thoughts, as if they have some power to affect you that they have never actually possessed. Through introspection, you can observe thoughts arising and subsiding from a field of immense possibility, one that is fast enough to allow for the conceptualization and then implementation of anything at all that can be imagined, even though some of what is considered is either highly improbable or extraordinarily difficult to manifest in form. Yet this process contains a very certain caveat, one that must be accepted before the interstitial peace that exists endlessly between the varied and often unnecessarily storied thoughts that arise and are then incorrectly venerated. That consideration is elegantly simple, yet it is massively revolutionary in scope. These seemingly tiny spaces between the arising of one thought, its eventual and inevitable diminishment and then the occurrence of another process of idea generation are actually infinitely vast, for all of the eternity that is the Mind of God occupies all of the spaces within which it appears, again to the untrained mind, that no thought at all is present. And indeed, in one aspect of recognition, there is no process of observance that takes places between thoughts, for nothing appears to be present. Yet there is All That Is available in all of these places, for the backdrop and matrix of awareness that subsumes and underlies all that is individual contemplation is the Mind of God - Infinite in scope and endless in Awareness. Such a Mind has no need for contemplation as it is understood and experienced in form, for within the ability to Know All That Is and It Is, there is no further need for consideration. Your mind is not as this, and it should not be - that would be overwhelming at first and deeply troubling after its first experience, for your entire worldview is based upon a system of stimulus response and prior conditioning. None of that is without value, for certainly a brainless mush of protoplasm has little ability to experience the world of form in the manners available to a Child of God who is experiencing an incarnation as a human being. Yet there is more even than that distinction between the activity of your mind and the sedate solemness of the Mind of God - there is a Freedom that defies all understanding, for it is not to be pondered and quantified - it is to be lived in the fullest sense of the word, and ongoing tapestry of connection to all that can be described as awareness or observation in any form, delivering to your newly opening mind the Peace that accompanies a complete Acceptance of All That Is as It Is, no longer desirous of judgment or evaluation, but simply resting in the consideration of the arising of instants, knowing that conceptualization is but a most minor aspect of contemplation. To consider is not to know, for there is much more to the process of allowing the final gestalt or zeitgeist of any particular event to become imbued within all of the levels and antechambers of your mind than simply regarding it from a detached perspective. All of this may appear to be contradictory, but it is not. It is merely the contradiction and oppositional pairing of the utility of mind and the sublime nature of transforming experience into Experience that is troubling, when it is believed that they represent some form of contrasting possibilities that cannot be resolved. Recall that all of Creation is Unitary. This is not a statement that can be finally transcended through consideration or evaluation - to genuinely be able to “grok” the Nature of the Unity of Love, one must drop all pretense and allow All That Is to be entered into willingly and completely, absent fear and devoid of doubt. This is a great surrender that appears to be death to the ego, but it is life for the soul. Unity is the operating principle of all of Creation, and so there are no thoughts that are not shared with your Creator. Is that to imply that God is spying on you, constantly “reading your mind” and judging you harshly for all that has arisen that was unkind, disrespectful, cruel or vile? Hardly. Such again is the presumptive framework of the ego now arising again as yet another seeming impediment to the surrender and release into the present moment that undos all of the ego’s frightful ministrations, allowing the ego to simply chatter on blindly, in the only manner that it knows how to operate and to exist, while your mind settles ever more deeply into the peace that is ever present in the spaces that are infinitely still and utterly void of any judgment - these interstitial spaces of Light and Freedom that are eternally accessible but frequently unseen within the mind of a Child of God who is obsessed with their own thoughts and what their personal narrative must entail or define for their exact placement within the cosmos. Peace returns not through effort, but through the release of all beliefs in the necessity for struggle as some form of “earning” the Grace of God. It is already yours. You are already Loved by God in a manner and with a genuineness of certainty that no amount of consideration of what such a statement might imply will ever reveal to you what the Experience of Loving God in turn and with an equally amount of dedication and Trust will entail for you. All that is not yet another in an endlessly unfolding line of unbidden and frequently undisciplined thoughts, so many crafted by the ego for your never-ending distraction - that is where the Mind of God rests, quietly and serenely, at the basis - or equally at the apex, depending on your elected perspective - of your continual stream of consciousness and all of the minuscule islands that it pushes up from beneath the waves of the Ocean of Love that is the Heart of God. All of the Peace of simply being present within each moment, accepting all that occurs exactly as it unfolds, awaits but the singular choice to no longer be the object of your thoughts, but rather to step back, just a little bit more each time, as you train your mind into ever increasing patterns of self-observation, until such a time that you become able to detect the substrate of infinite Love and observationless Awareness that is the both the Void of Creation and the Light of Love, underpinning all that occurs, supporting all that will be and forever accessible, just exactly at the moment that you stop questing for it and accept that it is already yours, now and forever.
