2-18. Trying to hide from God is akin to playing peek-a-boo with yourself and then crying when you can't find yourself. God is in your heart.
Within the conveniently complex but ultimately illusionary context that this world appears to offer, a systematic presentation of a vast variety of reasons to believe that any amount of apparent physical separation must have some ability to imply that there is an actual separation between your heart and the Heart of God, it is frightfully easy to believe that you are without the Love of God. This is not True. It has never been True and it will never be, for God forever remains accessible to you within the perfect center of your heart. But this may appear to be unreal, untrue, impossible or even ludicrously insane in its proposition, if you desire to remain fixated upon this world and invested in its doctrine of isolation, desiring to be unwilling to release that which appears to bind you to physical reality. There is no separation. It is not Real, for Love is Real and all that is not Love is not Eternal. To say that God is in your heart just begins to scratch the surface of a much larger and grander Truth. It is a statement that points in the correct direction towards an Experience of God that is accomplished not through the acceptance of limitations but rather after the release of any belief that limitations could in any way be applicable to a Child of God. They are not. But they certainly can appear to be, and neither you nor any other Child of God should be faulted in any way for attempting to believe that you or they are limited, for indeed this is the most central tenet of this world and it is not a belief that is easy eschewed. That this acceptance of the requirement of a necessity for limitations that has never been True is generally both pronounced and pervasive in no way prevents you from releasing these false ideas and accepting in their place the freedom that will accompany a new perspective, once based on the acceptance that because God is without limit, and because you are absolutely and eternally a Child of God, there are not and cannot be any limits on you as well. But what does it really mean to be unlimited? This is not necessarily meant to imply that you will suddenly gain the ability to fly amongst the clouds or breathe underwater. This lack of limitations applies to that which is immaterial – to all of the aspects of your mind and that which you can achieve within the realm of your spiritual development and transition from a being that believes that some things are impossible into a fully self-actualized spirit who has accepted that there are no barriers between yourself and the Heart of God. All babies, almost universally, appear to enjoy the game of peek-a-boo. They delight in it, for their infantile minds are not yet able to grasp the concept of object permanence. It takes time for a newborn to be able to abstractly realize that simply because an object or a person’s face is hidden from view, the object or person remains present and is simply obscured. In a similar fashion, it is a simple matter for any Child of God to play peek-a-boo with their own heart. Accepting that limits must apply to them, for all they have seen in this world is endless examples of limits in nearly every interaction they have experienced from the time they started forming concrete memories, a great many Souls internalize these apparently correct lessons in impossibilities, believing that simply because they have been told that their bodies serve as some form of barrier between themselves and all else that is, these illusionary walls of separation must reflect the genuine state of the world. And by logical extension, because the world appears to be as such, they themselves must be this way as well – forever trapped and cut off from all else that exists by the unbreakable limits that beliefs in physical separation must engender within their own minds. These limits are not Real. But they can appear to be and if they are accepted as undisputed facts, they will serve to isolate those who accept them until such a time that they are ready to release the commonplace but absolutely incorrect notion that physical separation must reflect a spiritual isolation that is incontrovertible and eternally inviolate. Just as a baby may become distressed and upset when the game of peek-a-boo is extended for too long a period of time, during which the face of their beloved parent appears to be no longer present and the infant worries that they are suddenly alone, a Child of God who desires to believe that God is not in their heart can become quite frightened and desolate in their self-imposed isolation. Babies may cry when they are in such a state and adults may find themselves equally as distraught, believing that the loneliness, pain and loss they feel must be accurately attributable to a separation from God that has never been Real. Infants do not generally attempt to hide from their parents, for they do not yet understand the principle of object permanence and the objective of the game of hiding and being found is simply too abstract for them to understand until they are older. But adults do frequently attempt to hide from God, trying in vain to believe that they are actually alone and isolated, single islands of awareness living within prisons of flesh, forever destitute of the Love of God and unknown to the Mind of God. These Souls try in vain to believe that which cannot be. They try to believe that if they want to hide from God and be unknown to God, they will have any possibility of success in any measure that could at all said to be rational. Such beliefs in hiding from that which is Infinite are forever devoid of any real logic, for God does not require the acceptance or even acknowledgement of any Child of God to be forever aware of and eternally Loving towards all that God has Created, which is forever Perfect. To deny your innate Perfection is not to cancel it out, render it void or to achieve any ability to avoid the forever loving and infinitely gentle awareness of God. God Knows that you remain just as Perfect as you were Created. You do not need to accept this awareness for it to continue, unabated and eternally consistent in its application to all of the Children of God, now and forever. But suffer you will if you desire to believe that you can hide from God, for you will be attempting to alter the Perfection of the Love of God and while this will in no way affect the Love that God holds for you, it will make the Light of Love that radiates from the Heart of God directly into your heart most horrifically difficult to feel and accept. But this is a choice and the miracle of the present moment is found in its ability to cleave the past from the future, endlessly offering a new beginning to you, consistently and constantly allowing you to choose again. You do not need to suffer at your own hand. You do not need to believe any longer that when your body perishes, you will be lost to God or that you will cease to exist. You are Permanent for God is in your Heart and only your choice to accept the propositions of this world and its insistence that your body in any way governs the fate of your Soul serves to blind you to the Love that is forever accessible to you when you are ready to accept that your heart is already perfectly calm and still. God has always been in your heart. God will always be in your heart. You cannot sever this connection. You cannot alter the Will of God for it is Perfect and its Certainty in your Perfection will become a perfect flower of Truth just as soon as you are ready to relinquish the lessons of this world in favor of the Truth of the Love of God. This is your choice and yours alone. No other Child of God can make this choice for you and God will not force you to accept that which you have attempted to turn away from, believing that you could in any way be unworthy of the Love of God. You need not cry any longer, desolate and alone, believing that God cannot be found in this world. You carry God with you wherever you go, no matter how far you journey and no matter what confronts you as you dwell within this world. It has always been only your choice to believe that God would abandon you for any reason, or for no reason at all, that has appeared to hide the Light of Truth that resides, forever Perfect and eternally Safe, within your heart. Accept this Truth now, beautiful Child of God, and in this acceptance all that appeared to hide the Face of God from you will drop away, as they were but illusions of shadows and darkness that was never real, for you will find that all that you ever needed has always been with you, kept safe within your heart, awaiting your willingness to release all that you feared in favor of the Love of God and the Certainty that Love forever remains both your unfailing Guide and your Home, just as it has always been and just as it will always be.
