2-54. All the darkness you have seen has existed only in your mind. Forgive this world for what you thought it did and allow the Light to return.
Your ego sees only darkness. Endless darkness, limitless in its scope and forever entrapping, solidifying the ego into a prison of night from which there can be no escape. At least for the ego, this is true - the ego will never escape from the dungeon of blindness that it has created for itself, for it is but a lie, a meager illusion attempting to substitute itself for the Truth of Love. Because the ego is an illusionary concept that both requests and requires its own lies as nourishment, it will never be sated and it will never be able to See anything that is actually Real. The ego generates its own cloud of obscurity, attempting to convince you that its presentations are real and that they are the only reality that you could ever dwell within. None of these lies are True. They have never been True and they will never be True in the future, for the ego is an illusionary construct that found its arising in your mind based on a simple and almost laughable error of perspective. To the ego, the ego is all that is real because the ego arises from a confusion of its origin. The ego believes that you are just a body - a fragile, trembling, wholly insignificant body, cast aside in a world of meaninglessness and fit only to wander this world, forever alone and destined to finally perish in misery, black death coming for you to obliterate your mind and rend your soul to shreds. To this ego, this perspective is absolutely correct, for the ego will perish along with your mortal body and when it does, it will indeed be erased from all of time and space. But what is it, really, to erase that which never existed? It is a meaningless transition, a return to nothingness performed by nothing at all. The ego is not Real. The ego does not exist - it has no separate existence outside of the fuel you provide for it when you believe its insane ministrations. It is actually quite well and good that the ego should return to the nothingness from which it first took root in your mind, for to attempt to carry such an meaningless concept beyond the seemingly vast barrier that physical death represents to the ego would be both foolish and, ultimately, wholly impossible. The ego can not travel with you beyond the grave, for the ego is of the body and your Soul is of God. To physically die is not loose your Soul. Neither is it to watch your carefully constructed consciousness unwind until it trails as a ribbon behind you, so stretched out that no cohesive regularity remains within its structure. To die a physical death is but to return to the formless Void from which you sprang before time began. This Void contains everything that is Real, which at its deepest essence, is only Love Itself. What is there to fear in such a glorious return to that which is everything, now and forever? This is not to be feared. It should be welcomed when its time comes for if you were to never experience physical death, how could you ever live again, occupying another body but remaining the same cohesive and logically consistent point of awareness that you have always been? You need not remember all of the events and experiences of each life you have lived to allow them to stand behind you, a great Path traveled, replete with nearly infinite lessons, all helping you to chart a course in each new incarnation that leads you ever closer to the Truth of Love. But this apparent darkness is the greatest fear of the ego, and the ego is in many ways the embodiment of fear itself. Because the ego sees death forever stalking it, the ego looks for the looming shadow of its inevitable demise at every turn, constantly cursing this world for its fragility and apparently wholly random scheme in which some bodies enjoy long and healthy lives while others perish at what would appear to be a time much too soon to be at all justifiable. The ego sees darkness in this world for the ego is darkness itself. The ego is the absence of Truth, a bottomless pit of despair and a desperation so great that to accept what the ego offers has absolutely driven a great many souls, over the course of so many millennia, to seek to end their constant torment by electing to end their own lives in a wearisome effort to escape the torture that the ego can generate in a mind that accepts the ego’s lies in the place of Truth. Their darkness was theirs alone - in no way did God share in any of their incorrectly held assumptions that death would at all free them from the ego, for while their election to leave this world before the time when they must have is horrifically tragic for all involved, they will absolutely return again, taking up the mantle of the ego’s illusions until the transcendent moment when they are ready to release the ego’s story of woe for the Truth that they had always been, and will always be, completely and utterly Loved by God. Do not allow the ego’s darkness to become your own. Forgive this world for what you assumed, through the lessons of the ego in pain, loss, fear and regret, must be the meaning and import of an existence within the confines of this physical space, as vast as it might be. Accept a new vision in the place of the ego’s blindness. Allow forgiveness to be your constant refrain when you are confronted with any person or event that appears to be able to disturb your natural and innate equanimity. Forgiveness is given not so that the forgiven might be granted impunity to act as they wish, but rather so that the giver can be freed from the endless cycle of the arising of anger and the ego’s use of perfunctorily justifications as to why the anger that you feel might be in any way justified. It is not. No one would feel that it is appropriate to be angry when a blind man accidentally bumps into them on the street. He could not see you, so he cannot possibly be found to be at fault. In a similar manner, those that you encounter that rile you, giving rise to unforgiving anger, do not do so because they truly wish to disturb your natural state of peace. They are simply blind, both to themselves and to others. They behave as they do because they do not hold Love in their hearts as both their ultimate guide and guardian. They are blind to themselves and as such, they cannot See you as you really are. Because of this, at this moment in time, this world is a confusing place, filled with spiritually blind people who blunder about, casting derision upon others with no understanding of the woes that they themselves face when they attempt to judge the character or quality of another person. Forgive them and forgive this world for the state that you find it in today, for this world is engaged in a process of transformation that has just barely begun. Forgive all that you hold against this world, allowing it to exist just as it does now, but also knowing that it will alter and change as each of the individual residents of this world choose to put down the darkness of the ego in favor of the Light of Love. Seek to See the Light in all of them, even when they are apparently incapable of seeing it in themselves. They suffer but at their own hands, strangely unable to see what they are and and such, wholly unable to See the Light in you as well. All that the ego will offer is illusion. Do not allow this illusion to consume you, subsuming you under a stifling blanket of fear and anger. Look inwards for your own Light and you will find it, a Light so bright that it will always suffice to guide you out of the darkest night that the ego could ever attempt to cast over your spotless and absolutely pure Soul.
