4-48. All that you judge as disparate from yourself is not. No distance lies between your heart and that of another. Withhold nothing from them or you will withhold it from yourself as well.
That which you refuse to give to another you withhold from yourself, for all that is considered too valuable to be offered is equally restricted from being received in a process that speaks to the Unity of Love, but which is a most tangential referent to the Totality of Truth. This is not to imply that you should pauperize yourself with asceticism, thrift and endless donation, for the giving that is referred to is not of anything material - although such offerings can be effective if there is a spirit of generosity that accompanies them - but rather an openness of the heart, one that recognizes in another not that which the ego seeks out as distinct and disparate, but rather a version of vision that approaches Unity through the tossing out of all thoughts of unbridgeable differentiation. To Give and to Receive are one, in Truth, but the ego cannot possibly be expected to understand or to implement this in any manner at all, for it stands in such opposition to the desperation of the ego that it will rail against its seeming requirements at every turn, seeking out methods to convince you that there could be any aspect of the heart of another that is not worthy of your recognition and appreciation. No such blemish exists. It is important, at this particular juncture, to establish an unforgettable delineation between that which is of the heart, which must per force be undamaged by this world and unscarred by all that has transpired here, and the mind of the object of your observance, a minefield of possible reactivity and a great deal of pain, generating behaviors and actions that are hardly in comportment with an awakened and healed Child of God. Those in pain will often lash out in anger, for they have been wounded - or so they believe - and they are desirous of avoiding any further infliction of anguish. That they are not actually affected by anything at all that can occur within the world of form is not understood, for they remain in a state of attachment to their bodies and their physical existence, and so they do not as of yet recognize that while they can suffer in form, nothing at all can afflict their soul. The Safety of God is not reflected directly within the world of form, for indeed there can befall a great many tragedies and afflictions in great variety, many of which are indeed not at all “deserved”. Yet that is the nature of the world of form - it is neutral, dispensing difficulties and delights equally and without regard for the amount of “justice” that their receipt may entail. Randomness rules the day within the world of form, for while the Plan of God is in operation at all times and with regard to all influences that are available, as well as the arising of opportunities when they are most appropriate, there is no overarching impetus for a “good” Child of God to be rewarded and a “bad” Child of God to be punished. All that is reward or punishment is of the ego - not of God. Because all of Creation is Perfect, there is no need to dispense some form universal record-keeping, ensuring that those who are cruel are prevented from inflicting atrocities, or simply gathered up and swept off of the playing field when they go rogue and allow their ego to overtake them, cutting themselves off from their own hearts completely and undertaking actions that are heinous by any measure and seemingly unforgivable in the judgment of some. Yet it is through the desire to judge that blindness occurs, for it is not the place of any Child of God to assert that they are able to be absolutely certain of the “why” of anyone else that they encounter. You are not granted access to the totality of the history of another - their experiences, influences and difficulties, along with their triumphs and systematic alterations as they have either grown in faith or remained as they were, comfortable perhaps but stagnant, most certainly unmoving in their desire to avoid the discomfort that can often accompany genuine and honest introspection. Because this field of information and experience is not directly accessible to you, all judgments are partial at best and wholly unwarranted at worst. Nothing is gained when you withhold from them your innate willingness to be present and aware of their True Nature, no matter to what extent they have apparently “lost their way” or having believed that they were unworthy of Love, they have attempted to relinquish their own innate ability to love themselves, completely and perfectly. When your recognition of the perfection of their heart is held in abeyance, it is you as well who remains unfulfilled, for there is no way that the integral and intrinsic nature of Giving and Receiving can be cleaved apart and employed separately, so that you can only give or only receive, but never both in equality. That is not possible because Love is Unitary, and so all that you are willing to offer to another is equally all that you will be willing to accept for yourself. Judgment is a wound inflicted upon a mind in conflict - it knows not its nature, and so it seeks out rationales for explaining the apparent lack of any generalized or specific organizational pattern for this world of form, finding it to be a place of chaos and threat, for few bodily protections can be trusted to be wholly effective. Yet it is not this world that threatens you with death, for that is not the end of Life. It is not this world that afflicts you with burdensome and inescapable pain, for all of that is a choice that can be engaged with or ignored, placing you on a path of reactive “autopilot” contemplations that judge others as unworthy, equally infecting you with the ego’s madness and incorrectible unwillingness to set aside evaluation in favor of appreciation. Distance appears to be definatory of the world of form, and certainly it is valuable, as smashing together all that can be into a mush of tightly packed physical matter would not make it particularly easy for the world of form to be what it is - a place of learning that separation, while valid in a physical sense and useful as a tool for distinction between expressions of the Divine, is in no way a valid schema of organization for All That Is. No distance can be measured between your perfect and peaceful heart and the heart of another, for all that is of Love is United with God. While it may seem that they seek to guard their heart, and that is for them to elect as they see fit, that does not imply that it is not accessible to you. You cannot help but feel the radiant Love that emanates from the heart of another - try as they might to obscure it, it remains ever-present - a diamond of the most exquisite perfection, utterly unconcerned with the layers of mental detritus that have become sedimentary obfuscations upon its outer layers. Seek not to engage with everyone, for many will be unwilling to be receptive of your entreaties to become present with you in the perfection of the ever-shifting present moment, and that is their choice to elect. But equally, never believe that they cannot, or that they are somehow distinct from you on the level of the heart, for they are not and will never be. All whom you encounter are unique expressions of the Divinity of Creation. All have separate and distinct Paths that they walk back to God, even if so very many of them know it not or seek what seems to be the exact opposite of the expansiveness and lightness that accompanies a faithful surrender to God and to Love. Withhold from them nothing at all, not with the intent of being taken advantage of or “walked on” but rather with a generosity of spirit that recognizes that no matter what outer expressions they offer up as evidence of their current level of understanding of their own hearts, much may remain hidden to them - new discoveries to be made when they are ready, not when you believe it would be best for them. Be patient while they struggle or thrash about, for their reactivity is their own to quell, when they are ready to set aside the ego and embrace their hearts again as the gateway to Truth that they will always be. Remember that to Give and to Receive are Unitary, and as such, all that is offered in kindness and recognition of the perfection of their Creation is equally received by you, ever expansive and possessed of the liberating power of Truth, a process which can undo all pain and bring about the arising of a Peace and a Joy that must be Experienced to be believed, and once found, never again forgotten in pursuit of the ego and its endless illusions.
